About Dr Porter
Dr. Joseph Porter is a Baton Rouge, LA native and very proud of it!
- He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Southeastern Louisiana University.
- He received his doctorate from the LSU School of Dentistry.
- Along with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery, he has an advanced degree in Family Dentistry.
- Dr. Porter then went on to complete an advanced post-doctoral program in orthodontics, accredited by the American Dental Association. With this advanced training above and beyond the training of a general dentist or pedodontist (children's dentist), he has attained the knowledge, skill and expertise necessary to provide the highest quality of orthodontic care available today for you and your family.
- While at the LSU School of Dentistry, he was honored to receive the prestigious Baldridge Scholarship, the General Dentistry Award, the Prosthetics Award and the Diagnosis of Oralfacial Pain Award.
- Dr. Porter is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and is also board certified through the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Porter’s goal is to maintain an orthodontic practice with a comfortable, friendly environment, committed to excellent service for his patients. He believes that every patient should feel comfortable asking questions and should feel confident in the quality of their care. Dr. Porter is dedicated to creating outstanding smiles for his patients, using the latest technology available.
